Officially unveiled just before the 1958 Motor Show, the Floride entered production in June 1959 and the first deliveries were made at the height of summer. This event was key given that Renault, which had been mass producing since 1945, was again moving into the niche vehicle market. This was an extra- ordinary return for those who remembered the pre-war cabriolets: the Primaquatre, the Viva and the Nerva Sport.
